Hello, I’m Lane Urick and I am a senior at Montana State University Northern.  I am pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering Technology.

Since I’m going into my last year, I have been looking for a job that would both give me experience in my field and teach me something new–something where I could learn from individuals that have all kinds of experience.  Now, I’m glad to say I have found that job here at the Advanced Fuels Center at MSU Northern thanks to Dr. Ressureccion and Dr. Maglinao.

My first week here has been a great learning period. The staff here is extremely welcoming and helpful. Whether its Alex explaining organic chemistry or Chaz walking you through the lab process, everyone here is there to help. They’ve made it real easy to fit in here and learn on your toes. Even though my main job is creating the life cycle analysis of certain bio-energy products, I am learning something new every day. Here at the Advanced Fuels Center I have been handed a great opportunity and you can’t say that about all jobs. I have always been interested in environmental engineering and extremely excited to experience it in such a great setting.

My first week has been great and I proud to say I’m apart of this team.
