Larry Strizich, EdD, PE

Larry Strizich was appointed as interim Dean of the College of Technical Sciences in September of 2014. Previously, he had served as Chairman of the College for over 12 years and as a faculty member most recently in the Automotive/Diesel/Ag-Mechanics programs teaching electronics. Dean Strizich has been a faculty member at Northern since 1988 and has risen in the ranks to Tenured Professor of Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology. Strizich has worked closely with all programs in the college for many years and has served in academic leadership roles for much of his time in the university. Strizich continues to work to improve academic program effectiveness by promoting program assessment and continuous improvement by working closely with industry and working to attain program accreditation where that process makes sense. Previously, Dean Strizich owned and operated a retail computer business based in Great Falls. He retired from the US Navy and Navy Reserves at the rank of Commander (O5) in 1997. Strizich has earned a Doctorate in Higher Education from Montana State University (Dissertation Topic – Assessment of On-line Programs within the Montana University System), a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Idaho – Moscow (Thesis Topic – Optical Part Recognition using Artificial Neural Networks), and a baccalaureate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado – Boulder. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Electronics Engineering.
